This is an e-mail sent to me (Bob Meli) by Fred Puglese on February 25, 2014.  The information he is reporting on is from the caption under the plaque which hangs in the foyer of the Elks Lodge in Hackensack and also some information he found while researching Albert Lange’s service. 

Albert Lange

Is on the honor roll and was a member of Hackensack Elks Lodge #658. He served in the United States Army during World War II with the 23rd Tank Battalion, 12th Armored Division, and was Commanding Officer of Company "A"
He was killed in action during the Battle of Herrelsheiman in France on January 18, 1945.

Fred continued with his e-mail and even though I have not seen the material I thought it interesting what Fred mentioned and worth keeping on web page.

Hi Bob, I really appreciate what you have done with the veterans. It really does mean so much to so many. I looked up information on Albert when I found his photo discarded in the basement of the Elks. I hung it up in the foyer there and did some research. I remember reading an account of the battle he was involved in. He told the author just before the battle he just knew he was going to get killed and was greatly bothered by his gut feeling. I took the blurb I sent you from the article and posted that near his photo plaque at the Elk lodge.
